Every one of these tools existed for a while before this site did — scattered across bookmarks, old project folders, and the kind of text file engineers keep and pretend is a productivity system. The calculators alone cover the things I actually reach for: basic and scientific math, percentages, tips, ages, BMI, dates, time spans, units, discounts and sales tax.
The money side got its own set: mortgage, loan payoff, compound interest, calorie, sleep, and aspect ratio for the media work. The concrete calculator exists because a friend asked me “how many yards for a 20×20 slab” one too many times.
The utilities that started it all
The password generator is the oldest tool here — rebuilt from scratch after I looked at what a Gemini-generated version was doing and didn’t like the answer. The typing speed test gets used daily. QR generator and word counter round out the everyday set. And then there’s the subnet calculator, because I run an IT company and CIDR math by hand stopped being funny years ago.
The fun ones
Not everything has to be serious. The Mystic Orb answers yes-or-no questions with the confidence of a man who has never been wrong, and there’s a hidden calculator that measures something you’ll have to find yourself. Those live here too, because a tools site you build for yourself gets to have a personality.
That’s the starting lineup: twenty-two tools, every one hand-built, zero accounts, zero tracking. The next post is about what happened when I decided that wasn’t enough.
